Well I am currently involved in the great post-graduation job hunt. Yesterday I interviewed with an organization I am very interested in. Currently they are my top choice as far as organizations I have applied for. The interview could have gone better. I feel like I possibly was more nervous than I intended. I hope that I was still able to convey the confidence that I have. I should hear back from the hiring manager tomorrow with a definitive answer.
One issue that remains a concern for individuals in my situation, especially in this economy, is that of further qualifications. I am highly recommending to anyone who is soon to graduate or just graduated to get a certification if possible. I unfortunately have no way of funding such a venture at this point. I hope to purchase my first set of study materials as soon as financially possible. However, it does not seem feasible until I have started working in the field. Yesterday’s interview spawned a direct question about certifications I hold. For me that is none. Again I encourage anyone and everyone to get certified within your field.
I wish all job seekers the best of luck as I silently hope for good news for me tomorrow.
As for microcontrollers and FPGA work, I have put both on hold. I have way to much work to do attempting to secure employment. I will be continuing my hobby as soon as I have less to do.
